It’s really cool the be part of the first or last of something. Recently my band Yuki Yuki Yasumi played the first Monday night show on the third floor at Molly Maguires in Phoenixville, and now we’ve been invited to play the last 228 Productions Wednesday night show at P.J Ryans, also in Phoenixville, PA. Since “Yuki” has played the underground numerous times, I wanted to share some memories.

7-7-10: This was the first Yuki show in which I wore girl’s clothes. I wore my red and black Gothic Lolita skirt. It was kind of a bizarre way of celebrating loosing a bunch of weight, I guess I have pretty bizarre way of celebrating stupid things. I can’t say I like this performance, which makes me wonder why I shared it it with the world on YouTube????  I got drunk, couldn’t hear myself through the “house” sound system, sung off key a lot. Come to think of it, most Underground performances were kind of like that.

1-19-2011: This gig marked the first Yuki (hybrid) set… Hybrid is what we call it when Nate and I play to backing track of the album. I know a lot of “true” musicians think this is “cheating,” but you try it. It’s really hard and “unforgiving” to play like this. I can’t help feeling like nate I are like some bizarre Cheech and Chongin this video.  Remember in Up In Smoke when Cheech comes out on stage with Micky Mouse ears and a tutu? That’s sort of how I feel with my Cat Ears and Schoolgirl uniform. I have to learn how to dance, my movements are so awkward.

4-20-11: My most recent experience at the Underground involved seeing Karma Bat’s final performance. This for me embodied the spirit of the Underground. It was dark and dim, the lights were low, the beer was cheap, the wings were covered with teriyaki sauce… it was a perfect atmosphere for fun punk rock.

What does the last Underground Show hold in store? A lot of bands. A lot of energy, and I can at least guarantee some unpredictably… it’s going to be a lot of fun!~ Yuki

Every Tear That You Wipe Away (Live) (remix for November 2010)

This is a special treat. Every Tear That You Wipe Away is a ballad off of Devoured By Japanese Schoolgirls, The first Yuki Yuki Yasumi CD. This live mix is much “heavier” than the album version.

Lyrics:

I couldn’t help but to be senseless. In the momment of your distress. Sometimes It’s so hard to find the words to say. If I’d have know I’d been so selfish, I might have saw you drowning helpless; but, I wasn’t the one there to save the day.

It’s now obvious, I see Your eyes belong to him, not me, But if you ever change your mind, You’ll know where I’ll be.

Diving for every tear that you wipe away. Waiting to catch you when you fall. If shall ever come the day. Standing by every moment that you slip away. Won’t make the same mistakes again. If you ever come my way.

It’s true that my thoughts were careless. This vanity makes me powerless. I thought that a song could sweap you away. When all you wanted was my presence. I was infactuated by your essence, but, I wasn’t there for you day by day.

I’m hoping and waiting. Despite the fact that despair consumes me .Looking for answers, Despite the fact that I am getting nowhere. I’m Looking for answers, In all the wrong places. Somehow i’m still convinced. That you’ll come back when you see me… (fall).
